Trend Trading Systems

I really like Trend Trading and use it as the basis of my trading system. It has always seemed to make sense to me - A kind of ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t try to fix it’ approach to calculating the future price of something.

However, I also understand that it is not the only trading system that words, but I have success with and so do many others. I am also a Technical Trader, and Trend Trading probably lends itself more to the technically inclined.

Boston Snow Indicator

Since it is nearly Christmas, I thought I would write something about the Boston Snow Indicator.

The theory is that if there is snow in Boston on Christmas day then the price of stocks will go up for the coming new year.

Hmm.. I’m not sure just how valid this economic indicator is, But I don’t think that I will place much faith in the Boston Snow Indicator this (or any) year!

Day Trading

This article is a brief introduction to Day Trading.

A basic definition of Day Trading is the buying and selling of financial instruments within a single day. This means that any positions that are opened in a market are closed by the end of the trading day.

The profit or loss (but hopefully profit!) for the day is then calculated from the balance of trades.

Many people would have become familiar with the term Day Trading from the era of the dot com boom - mainly because this was the time when technology became available to give the general public easy and cheaper access to the financial markets.
